Villa Del Sol D’oro Wedding by Closer to Love Photography

It’s just one gorgeous moment after another in these Sierra Madre nuptials by Closer to Love Photography and I just want to wrap up in all of this lovely and stay awhile.  From the charming location to the amazing florals by A Blushing Romance & Co. to one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen, this is one soiree that is all about the romance.  And I won’t forget those fabulous DIY projects crafted by the stunning bride, including wooden signage and a seriously awesome guest book.  Yes, this wedding most definitely has my heart and you can join me for every ounce of pretty in the gallery!

From the Bride… Most of our wedding inspiration came from the venue itself. Some of the chic elements were spring inspired and because I had always envisioned a romantic outdoor wedding I was immediately set on having our big day take place at this villa. I wanted to create an atmosphere that highlighted what was so vintage and elegant about this place. I came up with the idea of creating signs around the place that directed guests into different directions. These signs were made from creme paint and elegantly carved wood placards with vintage print, which in turn were sanded down for a more rustic feel. Our main focus was the lush florals which turned out phenomenal! Created by the craftiest ladies I know (A Blushing Romance & Co.) it complimented the party perfectly with shades of pastel pink, ivory and silver dusty miller leaves. These florals also highlighted the center pond at the villa, which really brought the whole décor together.

My husband (then fiancé) helped me piece together our guestbook. I purchased a thick papyrus-like poster board and two curtain rods with beautifully handcrafted ends. I used glue to hold together the narrow ends of the poster to the rods and with this we had ourselves a scroll guestbook. My something blue was this beautiful necklace my love gave me right before the wedding. Another detail that I am absolutely attached to is all the lace. Although my dress had a gratuitous amount of French lace I decided to dress up the tables and add a bit more delicacy. I used French lace for table runners complimented by soft florals and mercury votives.

I had 3 different hairpieces throughout the day. I wore a birdcage veil for the first-look-shoot that I made myself with from French netting and a feather hairpiece. For the ceremony I created my very own sheer veil that was in perfect length and allowed the details of the dress to come to attention. For the reception I wore a delicate couture hairpiece that my maid of honor had gotten for me.
