This wedding is so full of pretty, purple elements with tons and tons of personality! From the flowers, both real and felt, to the delicious looking cupcake favors, this wedding has set a new standard in adorableness. I’m loving the travel theme invites and vintage postcards that adorned all the tables. From Shang Chen Photography: The bride and groom, both based in California, traveled back to the Boston area to host this wedding at the Barn at Gibbet Hill because the bride is from this area. The Barn at Gibbet Hill was chosen for its delicious food and perfect size for the wedding size.
The bride incorporated many beautiful and unique touches. Highlights include a tea-length dress to compliment her short, curly hair. All the personal flowers were felt and made on Etsy. The bride added a purple crinoline to her dress and dyed her shoes purple to match. The felt bouquets, bouts, and corsages all matched the flower in the bride’s hair. She DIYed the ribbon pomander for the flower girl.
The bride and groom love to travel. They personalized their wedding vows to ask each other to commit to traveling the world together (ideally on a vespa!). As a result, the table numbers are vintage style postcards from destinations all around the world. The guestbook was also a box of vintage postcards on which guests could write well-wishes. Their wedding save the date came in the form of a personalized postcard from San Francisco, and the wedding invitations were in the form of a passport. The RSVP card was made to look like a boarding pass.
Food was another priority for the bride and groom. They chose a buffet for their guests including shrimp and scallops, pan seared chicken, cheese ravioli – all of the food at Gibbet Hill was sourced from the farm. The bride DIYed the week of her wedding little cupcakes in a jar for favors. Delicious Boston Cream Pie, topped with an aluminum personalized jar cover tied with a little fork for guests to take home and savor.
The bride believes that cupcakes can make the world a better place. Hence, she chose a cupcake display in lieu of a cake. The cupcake wrappers were in purple and lavender to match the wedding colors. The cupcake display was next to a wheel that was part of the barn. The bride maintained consistency in the design of her wedding by adding a wedding banner.
