I just love me a good, ol’ farm wedding. Maybe because I had one myself, but there’s just something so fun about a wedding that doesn’t take itself too seriously, with hay bales for seating, a simple white dress, and lots and lots of DIY details. Oh, and a groom rocking a bow-tie, I love that too! Rojo Foto Design was there to capture all the DIY details like the super cute handmade candle favors. Click here for even more!

From Rojo Foto Design: Katie and Scott wanted a beautifully simple wedding ceremony in a quiet allee of trees and a reception equally as laid back. St. James Farm was the perfect location. Miles of white fences outline this once equestrian center and the brick and bright yellow barns offer a charming backdrop for guests as they walked around before and after the ceremony. With just the two of them standing before their officiants, and the supportive family members and friends sitting on rows of hay bales, Katie and Scott were married on a beautiful July afternoon.
Knowing that this was going to be a small family and close friends event, Katie and Scott planned their reception at their favorite “modern comfort food” cafe (Honey Cafe) in neighboring suburb Glen Ellyn. With a three piece jazz band providing the music, the air was filled with laughter and chatter as people gathered around tables and played board games and card games together.
When it was time to make their exit, the couple walked through a flurry of paper airplanes and headed off to their Bali honeymoon! …the perfect end to the relaxing and memorable day that Katie and Scott wanted.
