From the Bride…From top to bottom I had the joy to design this wedding- with a lot of help from my family. We took a lot of time and care to put in many small details that made every corner of the venue covered with some beautiful little treasure. We spent months collecting vases, mason jars, candle holders, and picture frames- all of which we used to individualize each of the extended dinner tables. We cut our own table runners, hung our own lighting around the dance floor, made chalkboard signs from old wooden frames found at garage sales, hand-wrote all the escort cards, and we each even designed and put together our own bouquets. This was a DIY wedding from beginning to end. But the most wonderful part about this wedding was that it was completely outdoors, from the ceremony to the reception- and there was no tent! The weather held up beautifully, so our guests were able to enjoy dancing to a live band under the stars, as the candles melted down and left a dim sparkle covering the tabletops. It created a magical ambiance that was said to be straight out of a movie.
From Michelle Van Tine Photography…I’ve shot many weddings and I must say this wedding was on of the most beautiful ones I’ve had the opportunity to document. Every corner I turned there was a beautiful antique vase, fresh cut flowers, hand made elements and beautiful creative decorations. The bride and her family did everything from scratch, even made their own bouquets! The reception was magical. Guests feasted and laughed over candle light as the sun set behind the blue ridge mountain. As the sun gave way we discovered candles spread everywhere, even hanging all over the trees. It was a beautiful fairy tale wedding.
