I’m over the gypsy moon to share this steamy, sherbet-hued and shimmery bohemian love shoot by Elyse Hall Photography + Eventology Events. I’m specifically crushing on that pretty, pretty teepee and I just want to spend the rest of the summer months curled up in there with my honey. The bundles and bundles of inspiration wrapped up in this gorgeous shoot would be perfect for a late summer celebration or an early autumn affair, don’t you think? From Eventology Events…Bohemian romance was the inspiration behind our effervescent summer shoot. The idea was a collaboration between Eventology, Elyse Hall Photography, and Butterfly Petals, and evolved from a small floral showcase to a full wedding inspiration concept. Color became our first priority and with a decision to keep the palette soft and flirtatious we knew peach was the way to go. We envisioned various backdrops and scenery to contrast the soft flowing lines of our design. Showcasing each of our talents became key, and in the end we created vignettes that could be photographed to capture all of our strengths as a team.
You could never guess from the pictures that the temperature outside was a sweltering 117, but the heat didn’t keep us from bolting from local to local to set up each vignette. We decided on two very different locations in Queen Creek , AZ. The first area which featured perfect rows of lush pecan trees served as a backdrop for our table vignette and cake display as well as the perfect site to construct a “photo backdrop” out of gradating color carnations. The second spot was a very rustic desert landscape perfect for constructing what else, but a love teepee. Our gorgeous models braved the heat for multiple costume changes. The groom looked dapper in his own suit, and the bride stunned in dresses donated from Lillian and Lottie Bridal Boutique. Eventology accessorized the bride and groom, and the amazing hairpieces were provided by Mignonne Handmade out of Phoenix, AZ.
Flowers played a key part in this shoot. Luscious peonies, roses, carnations and succulents shined, while unexpected touches like peaches and feathers brought a very unique and modern touch to the style of the shoot. The table-scape overflowed with flowers in shades of peach, pink, and cream as well as yards of crocheted lace and vintage dishware. Amanda Johnson with Butterfly Petals handpicked the perfect flowers to compliment the shoot and spent hours piecing together our carnation backdrop. Each boutonniere and bouquet were distinctly different, but all fit the theme of our day. The girls at Eventology styled each vignette as well as creating a mock wedding cake, stationary, signs and the glorious teepee perfect for a rustic honeymoon retreat.
Overall we wanted the style to be a juxtaposition of rustic and romantic and we were thrilled with the finished product. Elyse, with Elyse Hall Photography, captured each concept impeccably and the lighting and mood read just as we had hoped. Each vignette was photographed at the perfect time of the day, with the shoot ending at sunset in our teepee of love….the perfect ending to the perfect day.
