Saying your vows on the tippy top of the The Loden Hotel overlooking all the prettiness that Vancouver has to offer sounds like a complete dream and from the images captured by Johann Wall + Lori Kiessling, clearly the proof is in the pudding. From the Bride...On May 22, 2011, Amy and Stephen got married at the Loden Hotel Penthouse in Vancouver, BC. We were thrilled to find an indoor location that that felt like an elegant city home, surrounded by the best of Vancouver: sea, mountains, and huge glass buildings. Our wedding party helped with all of the decorations and corsages which were all DIY and mostly inspired by web favorites, Confetti Systems and Martha Stewart Weddings. Guests were given ribbon wands upon arrival to wave at will, especially during the big kiss. We had hors d'euves instead of dinner and a series of toasts instead of speeches. A crazy dance party materialized, the police showed up (but just winked and moved on) and later in the evening, during the last song of the night our guests had the pleasure of tearing down the tissue decorations and indulging in a confetti explosion dance party- it was magical and destructively fun!!
We had four cakes of different flavors, made by my BFF and maid of honor, Lyndsay Sung from cococake, a two piece jazz band playing standards and a few George Micheal songs, the groom's favorite.
We have been told many times that is was a wedding for the guests, which was exactly what we were hoping for, a good time for all!
