Roses may have cornered the market for romance but I’ll take a bundle of lavender over a dozen red roses any day of the week. Could there be anything dreamier than an entire field of soft, wind blown lavender? This inspiration shoot by KT Merry and Dreamy Whites is a little slice of heaven and proves that lavender is as timeless and romantic as the rose. Can’t you just smell the sweet scent that must have been wafting through the Sonoma breeze? Each detail, of which there are many, is perfectly thought out and executed. Even just a handful of the lovely decor this fabulous team put together would a night of ethereal romance make! There is so much more beauty filling the pages of the full gallery so make sure you spend some time in there this afternoon!

From KT Merry…Lavender has always been an inspiration of mine and when I realized that I would be in wine country during the short period of lavender bloom I immediately went to work on planning an editorial shoot. With the help of talented vendors we brought my vision of a lavender inspired California chic affair to life. Sara of Sara Jean Designs and Maria of Dreamy Whites created beautiful details and tablescapes that could easily inspire any outdoor or wine country event. The whole day had a timeless and oh so romantic feel that was a dream to photograph. We also brought in Wendy of Brayton Art who is a local Plein Aire painter in Sonoma. I love the idea of hiring a Plein Aire painter to come to your event and create a one of a kind piece of art during your ceremony or reception. Many weddings take place in beautiful outdoor locations that are special to the couple, and I feel having the day of atmosphere captured in a piece of art during your event creates a beautiful, one of a kind heirloom. Not to mention, having a painter painting during your event is something very interesting and beautiful to share with your guests and so romantic!
From Dreamy Whites…KT Merry and Sara Roeder had a vision of what they wanted the table setting to feel like. I used items from my shop to try and make their vision come to life. They specifically requested we use antique lavender bottles and antique french documents. I used french farmhouse items from my shop to try and create an elegant yet farmhouse feel to the table setting. The gray french farmhouse table, antique french linen napkins, antique french bistro chairs, mason jars, antique grain sack runner, all help create a french farmhouse feeling. The lavender bottles filled with an abundance of fresh lavender and the antique french documents both help add a touch of elegance to the table along with the vintage silverware
