With the record breaking heat wave our nation is experiencing this summer, I think it’s about time for a breath of fresh air. This Wisconsin barn wedding was a great reminder as to why summer is so perfect for our favorite activity – weddings. The warm weather just seems to put a smile on everyone’s faces. The summer color palettes are so much fun. And there are amazing, amazing flowers everywhere. Like the gorgeous bouquet from daffodil*parker this stunning summer bride is toting. So I would just like to extend a big thank you to the lovely bride and groom, along with Anda Marie Photography, for reminding me just why we all love summer so much. Right from the start, Brent and I knew we wanted a wedding that had character but wasn’t too fussy and was something that we could make our own. When Brent told me about the barn his friends owned and had their wedding, I was immediately sold on the location.
Having been to a wedding or two (or twenty!) ourselves, we really tried to make the feel comfortable and keep our guests in mind by having the ceremony, dinner and reception all in one place and offering shuttle service to and from the barn along with really good food and drinks and a live band. We kept the decorations simple, personal and somewhat rustic, like the coffee stained luggage tags, old maps for the table settings because we love traveling, and blue mason jars with peonies, which I saw at a restaurant in NYC but are so farm reminiscent.
There are so many favorite parts of the day for me but I especially loved seeing how everything and everyone came together so perfectly. Saying the vows we wrote, being able to walk around to all of the tables during dinner and our first dance were also highlights of the day.
