Oh-M-G, I could literally stare at these gorgeous images from AMBphoto all.day.long. I think I may actually need some of these framed and hanging on my wall. They are that good. Provence has got to be the ultimate destination wedding spot with endless fields of lavender and poppies, crooked little dirt roads, and vineyards galore. I’m totally digging the rustic sparseness that this adventure loving couple incorporated into their day. It truly lets their surroundings stand out, and when you’re in Provence, that’s exactly what you wanna do. See every last gorgeous image here.

From the Bride…Five years after I met Mike, we were packing up our apartment and getting ready for a trip around the world together. Our first stop was Peru to climb Machu Picchu. After three days of hiking we finally reached the postcard perfect ruins and that’s when Mike dropped to one knee and proposed. He wanted to start the trip off with a bang and I certainly was blown away. During our travels we decided to have my wedding dress made in Vietnam. In five days time I had a beautiful silk taffeta dress folded in a box and shipped home for the big day. After our trip, the serious wedding planning began but we just couldn’t find a venue that felt right for us. One frosty winter day it finally dawned on us, why couldn’t we combine our love for travel with a wedding? As soon as we uttered the word “France,” it became a reality. What could be more beautiful than lavender fields and poppies, and more delicious than French cuisine – it had to be Provence. Everything just fell into place and before I knew it I was in the white dress, surrounded by friends and family as we said our vows, the sun shining over our 16th century villa. Our wedding was more than we could have hoped for. It truly was a fairytale with a happy ending…but really it’s just the beginning after all.
From Anne-Marie Bouchard of AMBphoto…Mike and Mel hired me when they first imagined marrying in my home base of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. When they changed their minds and decided on France instead, we all knew the photos would make a huge impact on their memories and experience. Mel and I worked together scouting locations online and later in Provence and together decided on a colour palette, lavender, soft grey and pink theme and beautiful light, romantic tones. We agreed that the feel would be rustic and simple and that we would incorporate the natural surroundings, especially the sandstone, into the look and feel on their wedding day.
