I'm a firm believer that the right graphic design can go a long way at a wedding. You really don't need much more if you have a pretty font and some cute paper goods. Take this lovely modern affair in Sydney by Tim Pascoe. The bride, being a savvy graphic designer, created a stunning and chic design motif for her wedding by using adorable paper elements such as the programs, menus and goodie bag favors. The branding even continued on the wedding cake and pillows! Check out all the design details in the full gallery!

From the Bride... As a graphic designer, I wanted to inject as much of my own personal style into the wedding and showcase all my talents as I treated the wedding as the platform to execute this. I endeavoured to make and create as much of the wedding as possible. What was outside of my scope, time or ability, I instructed my favourite vendors. I hand sewed 3 veils in the lead up to my wedding day, the first one didn't have beading, but my dress did, the 2nd had too much beading and would have been too heavy to float in the wind and the 3rd was just perfect.
I really strived to get the wow factor with our reception. As you enter the reception area there is a sunken area which I made into a “Chill-out” area for my guests. You are greeted with a welcome sign, that I designed. Then there were ottomans, side tables and the installation I created. I used the monogram I designed off the stationery and had a laser cut Perspex sign made and hung with glass orbs filled with orchids and dahlia’s. The reason why I did an installation piece was to really show my diversity as a designer. I wanted to really stamp my design on the wedding and make a statement. Really say, this is our wedding! And it is different from any other wedding you have ever been to. My main strive when planning the wedding was to make sure it didn’t end up being ‘cookie-cutter’.
Although we were working to a budget, there were a few things that I said to my husband, would come at any cost! One of them was the florist. My brief for the florist was white and green. Must include phalaenopsis orchids, white hydrangeas and magnolia leaves. I had 12 guest tables and requested the florist create 3 different types of table centre-pieces, so when you look around the room there is varying heights and styles. I didn’t want it too look to repetitive. His work on the installation, took my breath away. I chose not to do any draping in the reception or fairy lights as we were so blessed to have the best backdrop ever! The bridal table was framed with floor to ceiling windows of the iconic Sydney Harbour. We were perched under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the sun hitting the water danced throughout the room as the sun went down the lights came out to play. Our reception venue was in a heritage listed pier which had been converted to a 5 star hotel. The room had very high ceilings, old beams and pillars . The room did not require much decoration at all. It had quite an edgy, modern feel.
