Haiku Mill Photo Shoot by Tamiz Photography + CountDown Events Planning & Design

Haiku Mill is easily at the top of my list of dream wedding locations.  I have been completely enamored with the Maui garden paradise for some time now, so when I saw this gorgeous photo shoot designed by CountDown Events Planning & Design, I couldn’t wait to jump right in to what I knew would be a day filled with wonderful wedding inspiration.  And wow.  From the romantic pink florals by Bella Bloom to the exquisite paper goods by Wintons Social Stationery, every last detail of this Alice in Wonderland-inspired shoot is absolutely beautiful.  And all of the uber-stunning images captured by Tamiz Photography?  Beyond breathtaking.  Yes, I am very happy to be spending my Monday wrapped up in all of this pretty.  You should definitely join me in the gallery for even more!

From CountDown Events Planning & Design… Approaching the design of a photo shoot is very similar to the way we design each wedding. We allow the landscape to inspire us while keeping the dreams of the bride in mind. If there was a dream wedding to be had what would the lovely details be? The setting at Haiku Mill is filled with magic and inspiration. Not only are the actual grounds bustling with lush blossoms, there is also a gorgeous collection of antique vessels and furniture collected from around the world that adorn the space. When we actually arrived for the first time on-site with Rebecca and Jonathan, the photographers, we absolutely gushed with excitement! We began designing the details of the shoot and really couldn’t deny the resemblance of the magic of the Mill with the garden in Alice in Wonderland. The distressed walls and overgrown ivy and flowers lend themselves to a more romantic European setting and not something you would expect in Maui.

The colors for the table setting were blush and dusty rose pink, white, creams and some metallic accents. We wanted to keep a very romantic soft feel throughout all of the design elements. Romance, soft feminine edges and an overall natural feel was established using spring blooms, lace and antique textured wood with a raw finish. A perfect balance of natural beauty and glamour.

The theme for the flowers was ethereal and Nicole from Bella Bloom Floral Boutique did an amazing job layering the different pastel tones and textures.  These images depict the meaning of true beauty. With a mixture of old & new, soft & sweet – truly dreamy.
