Magenta, lilac, lavender, amethyst, mauve, violet – there are many names for the color purple, but I just like to call it pretty. And when Marti’s Floral Designs is in charge of bringing that pretty palette to life through floral design, you know it’s going to be good. I have been starring at all the arrangements in these seriously gorgeous images from Kortnee Kate Photography for longer than I should admit, because whatever you want to call the pretty color – it’s just good looking. So for all you purple-loving brides out there – get ready to pin your heart out in the full gallery of images!

From the Bride..The location was a beautiful wooded area, giving the wedding it’s ever so gorgeous backdrop. It was love at first sight, Krippendorf Lodge was the perfect place for our wedding.
Alex and I were college sweethearts and through all the ups and downs of life, we had each other. It was meant to be. Nature lovers at heart, the theme came rather naturally. Relaxed, simple, elegant, and full of color, all inspired by nature. Both of us being designers, we definitely knew what we wanted for our big day. The most amazing event and floral designer, Marti Thompson, immediately got our style and created the most breathtaking arrangements. Creative, colorful, and awe inspiring decor. We also had fantastic photographers, Kortnee Kate Photography they took the most amazing photos of the day. Beautiful moments now frozen in time.
The ever flowing, tiered gown by Angelina Couture was lightweight and airy, just right for the perfect weather that day. Sparkling in different shades of purple, the floral vintage necklace was given to me as a birthday present from Alex. This truly was the perfect addition to the gown. Hair and makeup had to have just the right touch. With my passion for cosmetics and beauty, I created my own makeup look and hair. Spirals of locks with a touch of a feather hair broch, from Portobello, hand picked by myself, made for a relaxed natural feel. The bridal party also wore different shades of purple, all unique in their own way. The groom wore a vest, purple chucks, with just the right touch of color.
Adding to our special day, my dad not only walked me down the isle, but made things official, along side with my grandfather. Friends and family from near and far came, made it warm and full of love and support. All in all, making our wedding day very personal and intimate. Details, details, details, all eye catching and unique in their own way. A vintage type writer as a guest book, bird’s nest ring pillow, vintage glass, the natural beauty of wood and gorgeous florals speckled throughout. We also had a sand ceremony. Which of course was beautifully captured by our photographers. The amazing candy bar, which everyone enjoyed, was beautifully decorated by the lovely Marti Thompson. Sitting perfectly on top were the letters L O C K W O O D, my new last name. Full of tears of joy, laughter and love filled the entire day. I couldn’t of asked for anything better!
