French Inspired Adelaide Wedding by White Room Events

Oh be still my French loving heart! This wedding is the epitome of a Parisian cafe wrapped up in hues of blue and red, the prettiest dessert table I ever saw, and simple red tulips (LOVE). Sure the wedding was in Australia, but that didn’t stop this bride from incorporating all things French. Styled by White Room Events and captured by Jennifer Sando, this wedding will have you saying “ooh-la-la” in no time! Click here for the full fête!

From White Room EventsRenee is the most relaxed bride one will ever come across–I’m sure of it. Her love for (well actually, I think she would happily call it an obsession) all things French is what she wanted her wedding day to be all about. Not in a gimmicky way, she wanted it to be like you were in a bistro, in one of the back cobblestone streets of a French town. We went for a bold colour palette of red, navy and silvery green tones, and teamed up with burlap to work a treat.

The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Al Ru Farm, a French oasis in the Adelaide countryside. It was the perfect choice. Owner Ruth Irving is a French Antique dealer. The property is a showcase of the most magnificent architectural details and original French pieces. The homestead is surrounded by 7 acres of manicured gardens that are opened as part of ‘The Australian Open Garden Scheme’. They are magical; you can get lost down a pathway and find yourself in a garden room hedged with roses. Everywhere you go within the huge gardens, you might discover the peacocks, guinea fowl and the household cats, or perhaps the largest dog you will ever come across: Miss Daisy. Renee really hit the jackpot choosing this venue, and I was beyond excited about it as well. Owner Ruth was the perfect host and a lot of fun. Her passion for her home and work is contagious and she was keen to make the day perfect too. She took us on a tour the day before the wedding to show us her collections of the most amazing antiques, and it was then that she happily told us that we could use anything. We were in Heaven, and just so lucky to have access to the genuine French furniture that was dotted all around the farm, which made the whole wedding unique and authentic.

The ceremony was held in the ‘White Garden’.  Guests followed little French ribbon wands down the path to reach the beautiful open space, which were surrounded by 60 guests. Renee and Paul opted for a simple but truly meaningful ceremony. For the reception, the guests made their way to the beautiful barn, which is made from hay bales and then rendered. It’s quite spectacular.  One wall of the barn is lined with burlap and holds a collection of huge French antique mirrors. We used this wall to display the lolly buffet, as well as the stunning red, white and navy 3 tiered cake with brushed red embroidery, fine piping work and mini bunting, created by Belinda of Sweet Treat Cakes.

This wedding was relaxed and fun, from the beginning to the end. Renee and Paul are a great couple–you can feel their love and energy for each other just by spending time with them. I think those weddings are the best, where the guests are all so happy because they know how good the couples are together. It was a true celebration–French-champagne-cork-popping-good!
