Growing up I was a certified horse nut. Nowadays I am a certified wedding junkie. So you can only imagine with those two lovely characteristics under my belt I get a little giddy at the thought of an equestrian inspired photo shoot. Well I just have to thank Silverberry Occasions Event Planning & Design Inc. for bringing my two loves together so beautifully and Rowell Photography for letting me see the vision come to life through their beautiful photographs. From the pony-fied paper by Palettera to the pretty cakes worthy of the winners circle by Pretty Sweet Cakes – it’s elegant equestrian style at it’s finest, and you can see even more in the full gallery of images!

From Rowell Photography…For this shoot we envisioned a bride who loved the outdoors, has a fondness for rustic details, and a special place in her heart for her horses. For her wedding we wanted to incorporate these aspects of her life, but in a charming and elegant way. To capture this look we started with the naturally beautiful setting of a horse farm and began to add details that were full of elegance and glam, but had cute reminders of the bride’s personality and passions. The colour inspiration was drawn from red and white gingham – something that is very recognizable when it comes to country/farm decor. By combining reds and whites with silver, platinum and other rich, creamy tones, we were able to take a very recognizable colour pattern and transform it into something fresh and stylish.
Savera, of Pretty Sweet Cakes, designed our individual cakes. They were trimmed in silver piping and adorned with a red “fabric” flower and antique silver button. Overall the design of the cakes is very chic, but when you look closer, there are some great rustic elements (one of them even has a piped silver horseshoe!) that add an element of fun all while keeping with our theme of elegance.
Incorporating a horse motif onto the invites seemed like the perfect design. This is the first hint your guests receive as to what they can expect for the event, and we thought the 2 horses would be great indication of the locale. Deb at Palettera did a great job combining just the right amount of glam with sweet “farm-y” touches. The boxed invite was wrapped in twine and on the outside of the invite and on the invite itself you’ll find the one glimpse of our original colour inspiration: a little gingham button. Deb also created the loveliest favour/seating cards, a coordinating menu, and a beautiful table wrapped in handmade paper and red ribbon.
Rachel, of Rachel A Clingen Wedding, Event & Seasonal Design, did an stunning job with the floral arrangements. We kept the florals bold and rich with hues of red, pink and creams, but placed them in old tin containers to once again bring in the rustic, farm feel. The gorgeous bouquet incorporated the same colours and was hand tied in a beautiful silk ribbon and twine. She also captured our vision perfectly of a romantic, flowing canopy which she draped beautifully from a mature apple tree. For the tabletop we made sure to incorporate a lot of sparkle and pizazz. The plates were rimmed with platinum and sat on top of a silver charger. We paired a rich red wine glass beside a platinum rimmed water goblet. All of this sat atop a cream coloured pintuck linen with just a hint of shimmer. To finish off the sparkle, we hung a silver chandelier (complete with crystals) over the center of the table and added a few glass votives in a deep ruby red. The finishing touch was the country sweet table. We wanted this element to be totally fun and for all of the sweets to be homemade (think fresh baked pie cooling on the windowsill). Guests could snack on oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, butter tarts, cherry pie, mini powdered donuts and individual bottles of milk. Lottie & Lil provided us with the latest in dessert on a stick – homemade apple pie pops. We wanted this to be an area for guests to come grab a little snack and have a seat amidst the dancing and celebrating.
