From the Bride...Dean and I got married in Palm Springs with our closest friends and family at The Korakia, a Moroccan bed & breakfast. And even though our wedding was small, we put as much thought into the day, numerous details, and design elements as if we had planned a much, much bigger wedding. In fact, we originally had—but given my mother’s death from a long battle with cancer less than a year ago, a big celebration did not feel appropriate. So in just a few months our wedding novella was revised down to a beautiful poem.
Our venue, The Korakia, has gorgeous architecture, waterfalls, fire pits, Moorish influences and so many other colorful, unique touches. My wedding dress was an elegant one-shouldered Grecian gown, while my striking bouquet, incorporated protea, craespedia, freesia, and calla lilies. I added my mom's favorite pin to my bouquet, Dean's mom gave me her grandmother's diamond pendant to wear, Dean wore his paternal grandfather’s watch and his maternal grandfather’s cufflinks, and our cake cutter was his great grandma's on his dad's side.
