Before I even begin, let me just say that SMP Editor and one of my fav girls ever, Erin, is TOTALLY jealous of me right now. Because this next gorgeous fete just might be the real life version of her own wedding re-do. A sweet, So-Cal soiree complete with succulents tucked into each and every super chic corner…even adorning the perfect Sweet and Saucy cake. It’s almost as if the bride climbed right into Erin’s noggin and used every single one of her wedding obsessions, including the photography stylings of Jack Wittbold for Sarah Yates Photography. So from both Erin and myself, we are thrilled to be diving head first into this oh-so-SMP affair. Click here to see even more.

From the Bride…Being both native New Yorkers, it was really important for us to have a California wedding, to signify a new chapter in our lives. When we found Stone Manor in Malibu, we instantly fell in love with the venue. It was so private and perfect for our small intimate wedding. Having looked at many wedding blogs, we knew Sarah Yates Photography would set the perfect mood- classy yet unconventional. My sister was our wedding planner and helped us plan a simple and rustic feel for our outdoor wedding.
Both of us are musicians (Minyoung, a violinist at the LA Philharmonic, and Joseph a principal timpanist of the LA Philharmonic and a composer) and all of our guests were either musicians or avid classical music lovers. The ceremony was especially meaningful with music performed by our old friends from the NY Philharmonic and new friends from LA Philharmonic. Joseph also composed a piece especially for the wedding that Minyoung performed on her violin in front of the guests which symbolized their union. The classical music theme was maintained throughout the wedding with little details such as naming each dinner table after our favorite composers and then displaying the composer’s portrait and music score on each table. Some of our other highlights of the day were the incredible food by Animal’s Jon Shook and walking through the wildflowers behind Stone Manor during the sunset.
