This next wedding incorporates my favorite color in the whole entire world, so you know I’m in love with it already! Maybe it’s a Pacific Northwest thing, but I’m obsessed with all the green touches in this wedding, from the dramatic centerpieces to the super cute programs. And the aisle style? Forget about it! How stinkin’ cute are the flowers tied with raffia on the chairs? The Popes were there to capture all the pretty details and as always, there’s so much more in the gallery!

From the Bride…Even though we currently live in Florida, Jeffrey is from central New Jersey and I’m from Bellingham, WA. We both love nature and I’d always dreamt of having my wedding photos taken under one particular tree at Marine Park in Bellingham, with the tranquil bay in the background. No one in Jeffrey’s New Jersey family had ever been to Washington state, so we quickly decided to have a destination wedding in one of the most beautiful places on earth – the Pacific Northwest. From there, the Pacific Northwest theme of our wedding spawned from the fact that it was a destination wedding and we wanted to fully represent all that the northwest has to offer.
We fell in love with the beautiful grounds at Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, and were pleased with how helpful and efficient the wedding staff was. (Since we were planning a wedding from 3000 miles away, it was important that we find a venue that could help us achieve the wedding of our dreams without burdening our family.) After choosing the location, and talking with our vendors about our vision for a Northwest-themed wedding, our caterer and our florist began to make our dreams a reality. I am gluten intolerant and really wanted to be able to eat some of my own wedding cake and food. So, we had Kate’s Cupcakes make the top layer of our cake gluten-free, and then she transferred it our cake decorator. In addition, Mounts Bakery, who also specializes in making gluten-free desserts, created a wonderful dessert bar for the guests to enjoy.
The most incredible moment of our wedding day was seeing each other for the first time. Our fantastic photographers, Gerald and Airika Pope of The Popes Photographers, arranged the perfect place for Jeff and I to see each other before the wedding. We had our first look down at Marine Park near the tree I had always dreamed of for my wedding photographs. Seeing him in that moment – taking in that he is and will be my best friend for the rest of my life, and realizing that we were finally just hours away from our big moment – was incredible. We had so much fun being alone with just Gerald and Airika, who made us feel relaxed and natural. The weather was perfect, and spending time at the park was a wonderful way to start our day!
