Ontario Winter Wedding from Sweet Sweets + Les Fleurs

Oh boy, do we love a good piece of wedding cake. So when Ida of Sweet Sweets Cake Art sent this Ontario winter wedding our way, we couldn't help but peek. And when we saw the cake - we were hooked. It's such a unique and contemporary take on the delicious morsel that causes excitement around a wedding from every guest. After drooling over that cake, we had time to take in the rest of this sweet wedding of two high school sweethearts and fell in love with them. And the wedding -especially the flowers, from Les Fleurs Floral Boutique. Want to see more of Sweet Sweets' cakes? Click here for their blog!

People tell me everyday how crazy I am and for good reason. Everyone knows how you have your first real crush in high school. You follow them in the halls, whisper about them in class, doodle their name on your binder and say “I am going to marry him one day." Well this is the reality for me.

Jason and I started dated at the young age of 16 and it was all because I was determined I was going to marry him. We had been doing the whole teenager first date stuff. I finally got the courage to ask him to by my boyfriend and he really had no choice but to say yes. It was the start of us as a young couple. We dated throughout high school and college and eventually moved away from our families.

Everyone kept telling Jason it was about time to ask me to be his wife. I gave many what you could call “subtle hints” in the hopes he would get it one day. Well he finally got it after 7 years of dating when we were on a weekend trip away he asked me to be his wife. This was the moment I was waiting for all these years of knowing he was the one I was going to marry. It was actually reality.

The wedding planning began, and living approximately 22 hours away from where the wedding was taking place became a bit challenging. There were many flights home and the first thing I wanted to book was a wedding photographer. We finally found Scott Williams from Capturing the Light Photographer and he was not hesitant to meet with us. From the first meeting with him he had the feel of what we wanted for our day. Jason hates his picture bring taken so we needed a photographer that would not be in your face and making you pose in all these awkward positions. Scott insisted he captures the true moments of the day and that he did.
