There is a lot I love about weddings, I think that is obvious. A good dress makes me gush, stationery makes me swoon and overflowing florals make my heart flutter – just to name a few. What I love most of all is when the details in a wedding 100% reflect the personalities of the couple, and I feel like this lovely fête captured by NYLA Photography has the darling duo written all over it. From the Bride and Groom…So our story is a funny one that will be told over and over and may change a little bit with time. Upon graduating from Harvard University Law School, Jairo and his friends traveled to Miami Florida to start some missionary work. They somehow landed on Ocean Drive, extremely thirsty and in need of shade. Wet Willies Natural Juice bar was open. Maylin and her friends walked in a few minutes later. After a long day of community service, the ladies needed to replenish their electrolytes. It is a known fact that “Call the Cab” drink is FDA approved and an essential part of every Floridian’s daily diet.
The two groups joined thanks to Manny Torres who approached the ladies and introduced himself. Manny states that Jairo couldn’t stop talking about Maylin as she stood on the other side of the bar. Several drinks and pictures later the groups called it a day and went their own way. A few hours later the groups randomly bumped into each other on the beach. Although there are some rumors that Jairo encouraged his friends to look for the girls. He wanted to see Maylin one last time. That was all for that weekend. There was no further communication other than a few text here and there for the next 10 or so months. Seemed like an eternity. Jairo and Maylin eventually chatted on the phone (almost 10 months from meeting) and agreed to go out and catch up. The rest as we say…is history.
