From Annie Laurie Photographic… The wedding week began with a church ceremony at the gorgeous Our Lady of The Rosary in Little Italy. It was an intimate ceremony, and a beautiful one at that. A few days later I met up with Megan and Roger in Wakikii, Hawaii! When I shoot a destination wedding, I always shoot the rehearsal dinner. I just love being around the family, friends, and guests as much as possible. The rehearsal dinner was at the Tiki’s Grill at the Aston Waikikii Beach Hotel.
The wedding day was here! It rained the night before and it was still raining the morning of… and although it was a little nerve-wracking, I was determined to stay positive. “The rain will stop and it will be a beautiful day” was my mantra as I walked over to the Moana Surfrider Hotel that morning. When I arrived, Megan was sharing my attitude and enjoying her time with her girls. By the time everyone was ready, the rain was gone and the sun started to peek out from the clouds!
I can’t tell you how excited I was to shoot the details, I knew Megan was going to have a gorgeous dress and of course, rockin’ shoes. A few months earlier Megan had laughed at my idea of doing a “Trash the dress” in Hawaii… she said “There is no way I’m trashing my Vera Wang!” Well, I certainly don’t blame her, her dress is spectacular!
The ceremony was simply beautiful. It took place on the Diamond Lawn and Terrace, a private courtyard overlooking the beautiful Waikiki beach. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed Hawaiian music, cocktails and a wonderful gourmet buffet. And now we are at the end of my day with Megan and Roger. What an amazing day! Megan and Roger have such a profound connection, head over heels and love and a wonderful friendship. I really believe that will have a spectacular future together!
