Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding from Pick Me! Floral & Event Design

After Memorial Day a few weeks ago, we’re sure you’ve got pools and BBQs on your mind. But for those of us who love, love winter weddings (guilty!), it’s always a good time for some snow covered inspiration. And what is a better place for a winter wonderland than Colorado? This wedding, captured by Brinton Studios, has us counting down to the days of mittens, hot chocolate, and adorable cold weather brides with rosy cheeks. Planned, designed, and flora’ed by Pick Me! Floral & Event Design, this fête is fantastic. So to all you December, January, and February brides, or those of you who just like a good old fashion sleigh ride, this one is dedicated to you. From Kara of Pick Me! … Tiffaney and Dave’s January wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch was simply one of my favorite winter weddings ever.  This lovely couple planned their destination wedding while moving from Minnesota to Colorado.

An elegant rustic theme was decided on with a neutral warm color palette that focused on textures.  White hydrangeas, garden roses, ranunculous, anemonies and lisianthus were mixed with silver brunia, dusty miller and succulents.  Since it was a chilly day in January in Colorado, I made sure to make a second bridal bouquet (just in case anything froze!)  For the ceremony, we lined the aisle with over 70 vintage mason jars and bottles filled with flowers and succulents and mixed in mercury glass candles.   Later these same items were re-appropriated and used a reception table decor.

While the staff at Devils Thumb Ranch flipped the room (we switched the glass room called the Timberhouse from the ceremony site to the reception dinner), Tiffaney, Dave and Tiffaney’s daughter went on a horse drawn sleigh ride while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour in front of a roaring fireplace in the Barn.  Paula Thomas from Teacup Bakery created the most amazing dessert bufffet that I have ever seen and Julie Sandusky created all of the print work, from the invitations to the dessert bar descriptions.
