From Special Day Event Planning and Design: Charlene and Steve chose The London West Hollywood Hotel for their Spring wedding because of it’s very clean, modern decor, and the gorgeous rooftop tent space with views of Hollywood and Los Angeles – very fitting to their styles. They wanted their wedding to be Chic, Simple, Classy, and Romantic – streamlined, nothing fussy. It was important to Charlene and Steve that their wedding was an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends. Throughout the planning and design process, much of their inspiration came from several Style Me Pretty featured weddings.
Charlene chose a color palette of black and white with hints of gold and blush, something very timeless and beautiful. The bouquets were composed entirely of garden roses – blush for the bride and cream for the bridesmaids. Boutonnieres were classic white ranunculas wrapped in black satin ribbon.
For the ceremony, we kept it simple with only a “floating” platform and went with a lush aisle treatment of white and cream rose petals, letting the views speak for themselves! Especially because the Rooftop Garden of the London was already lined with trees, green hedges, and cream rose bushes.
Once the white linens and gold chairs were chosen, we brought in a white lace runner to add texture to the two tablescapes, which also tied in with Charlene’s lace Monique Lhuillier gown. JL Designs created monobotanical arrangements using white ranunculas, cream hydrangea, white lisianthus, black and white anemones and blush garden roses. For the vessels, we chose all footed glass vases with feminine lines and shapes to them. Every napkin was wrapped in a black pleated ribbon and accented with a gold filigree brooch, there were four different napkin treatments.
Charlene and Steve wanted to have lots of candlelight. The tables were completely lined with candles of various heights, while the lighting was a romantic amber wash. Guests saw the progression of the evening as the sun set behind them, the glow of the candles and ambient lighting came on, the city lights surrounding them – creating such a romantic atmosphere. As their reception was held in the clear tent on the rooftop garden, all the lighting even reflected off the roof of the tent. The cake, created by Nancy Kay Confection’s, was a very simple and clean three-tier white fondant cake with lace bands, which sat on a clear plexiglass cake stand.
