I have a serious love affair with San Francisco’s City Hall. It is such a phenomenal venue and perfect for any type of vow-exchange. This black and white affair looks quite at home under the lens of the extraordinary Delbarr Moradi and just screams sophisticated romance. The two-day celebration included post-ceremony bowling (awesome!) and an elegant night out at Baker & Banker that continued the no-fuss, all-romance, modern vibe. From the Bride… Though I got caught up in a lot of should do this or thats, what we really wanted was a small, simple, and easy wedding. Luckily Jaime, of sound mind and vision, suggested that we get married at San Francisco City Hall in my home state of California. This was very easy to plan from Hawaii, Jaime’s home state and where we now live. So we registered, crossed our fingers that we would get the rotunda, and started looking for a dinner location. Baker & Banker was one of my first finds and after I kept going back to it as an option, we finally booked it. Other than small, simple, and easy I also really really wanted to have great food! And great food it was! It was also warm, cozy, and comfortable. We skipped cake and instead enjoyed their incredible homemade ice cream sunday and lemon bars and mini classic vanilla cupcakes and turtle bars and… it was perfect. Their tables could not fit centerpieces, so we also skipped the flowers. I didn’t miss either as it was the food and intimate space that meant more to us. We hope it was also what our guests enjoyed and will remember. If nothing else I know there were lots of full tummies and clean plates.
Since we got married on a Friday and had dinner the following night, we decided to find a post ceremony activity. So post City Hall my brother hosted family and friends for bowling and beer at Presidio Bowl. We had a great time! As for the ceremony, City Hall worked out perfectly for us. If you haven’t been, you have to first know that it’s just a gorgeous building. Also our judge was lovely, the process was easy, and we appreciated the great service provided by city employees. And we got the rotunda! Woohoo!
Lastly, I recommend Delbarr to anyone currently on the hunt for a photographer. Her images are beautiful and fun and romantic. We had a great time during our engagement session and, just as I had hoped for the wedding, she went beyond capturing us and our group and got some wonderful shots of the City Hall architecture and ambiance. Not to mention she’s super nice, easy to work with, and a very talented graphic designer.
