Happy Memorial Day! Remember, it’s business as usually today on the LBB blog, so in between your potlucks and volleyball games, stop in again this afternoon for another lovely wedding. But first, we have a beauty. So this is love… My heart skipped a beat and I completely understood what Cinderella meant in her fairy tale song when I first laid eyes on this Los Angeles wedding. The images, from the ever-talented Palos Studio, took my breath away. The wedding is so grand, so romantic, it has the feeling of the crescendo of a sweet love story. The golden yellow hues and the opulent flowers adorn the magnificent venue perfectly. When you’re ready, continue the dream over at Palos’ blog!
The magic continues in the gallery!
BJ and I met in college at the University of Southern California. We were actually both part of a date auction. Despite us both being auctioned off to different people, we sat on stage next to each other and he made me laugh so hard hard it really helped take away my nerves. Over time we exchanged numbers, got to know each other on campus and fell in love.
We found a venue we absolutely loved because it was grand with amazing architectural elements, a strong vintage vibe and an old-world elegance. Though rather conservative, our style as a couple is much more modern than vintage so we were thrilled that our amazing wedding planner, Deanna Tat, was able to tastefully bridge the worlds together.
We had a winter wedding but I love bright colors. Marigold was a color that worked beautifully in our venue and was just bold enough to work for a winter wedding. Gray was a great compliment and helped make the wedding modern and not too girly for the guys.
It was immensely important that our wedding be a reflection of our personalities, an inviting occasion for friends and family and most importantly, a celebration of love. We had a ceremony where BJ’s long time friend (who is also a youth pastor) served as the officiant. Our parents and grandparents sat in seats of honor where they could view our faces during the ceremony. We put love quotes in the restrooms and made sure to visit every table for hugs and hellos before we sat down to eat.
