I have just two words to describe this wedding: clean and cool. I love the simplicity of the design and find it super refreshing! And it just so happens that I think Palm Springs is an amazing place too, so I’m officially in love. The bride’s dress is gorgeous, her maids are super chic, and I love that they gave all their guests a pair of shades so they wouldn’t get blinded by their love. So cute. And there to capture all the moments and details for us was the obviously talented Marianne Wilson. See every last photo here in the gallery!

We decided to travel from Canada to Palm Springs with our closest friends and family members. We decided on Palm Springs as we wanted to be married outside and the weather here at home is VERY unpredictable. Troy’s father and step-mother spend winters in Palm Springs and invited us for a visit…. we decided that P.S. would be a great location. So we rented this gorgeous house and got in an RV and traveled down for the big day. I love that the setting is not traditional and has a great modern look. There is a great indoor-outdoor flow that works great for guests and the style of the wedding and home compliment each other so well! The interior decorating is gorgeous and has very clean lines…. lots of white (walls, floors, etc.) and super cool modern furnishings!
We were married in the backyard by the pool and were inspired by traditional Hawaiian ceremonies where the guests are involved in the ceremony….making it more of a community affair. We had guests grab a handful of flower petals to create an altar out of petals. It was a very quick ceremony however as we are excited for the celebration! We even decided to do our vows in private later that evening.
The Groom and GM’s wore light silvery/grey suits with thin black ties and black shoes. I wore an ivory mermaid gown with organza ruffles from the knee break down. The BM’s wore sleek and modern dresses and the flower girls wore champagne dresses with flowers in their hair, gladiator sandals and walking our labradoodle, Cooper (who had a bow tie on). The next day we had a bbq brunch, Easter egg hunt (complete with bunny pinata and funny prizes for the guests both young and old) as well as a pool party.
