Not only is this modern Manhattan wedding by Oak Street Studio beautiful, it was also planned in just three months! It always baffles my mind to see brides pull off such elegant affairs in the time it takes me to pick out a pair of shoes, and then look so calm and collective in every pretty image. It also helps this bride's best friend, Karen Messing, was there to make sure the couple's wedding stationery was a perfect fit for this modern duo. From the Bride... Eric and I gave ourselves three months to pull off an intimate, late afternoon wedding with only immediate family and our closest friends. Once I discovered Brotherhood Synagogue, a warm, old Quaker meeting house on Gramercy Park, I knew the rest would be simple! I bought blue vintage mason jars of different sizes on Etsy, picked an array of wild flowers to fill them with and opted for burlap tablecloths to preserve an organic vibe. The synagogue provided a simple, beautiful chupah.
My best friend, Karen Messing, and I designed and printed the invites, menus and placecards. Karen also accompanied me to Veka, where I bought the first dress I tried on! We decided on passed lychee martinis to get the party started and skipped the traditional cocktail hour for shared plates on the table when guests walked in. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we decided on a bar of mini desserts which the guests devoured!
