Oregon Wedding by Lauren Brooks Photography

Note to self (and to everyone reading this): ribbon weaved in chiavari chairs is a simple yet completely noteworthy decor idea. I just love how it adds the perfect pop of color to this completely sweet, floral-filled affair by Andrew of The Perfect Occasion. The couple and their team of amazing vendors were able to make this wedding of over 300 people feel like a summer evening dinner party under the stars, and I am completely smitten with that talent. Lucky for all of us, Lauren Brooks Photography filled the gallery with oodles of images to gawk over so this style-filled fête never has to end. You just gotta love that!

From Lauren Brooks Photography… During the cold, pacific northwest winter, when rain has set in, the sky is gray, and the air is damp and cold, I will go back to Leah and John’s wedding photographs to remind me of the warm, romantic, sun-soaked days of summer.

Leah and John’s wedding ceremony and reception took place on August 14th, 2010 at Melrose Vineyards in Roseburg, Oregon. Inspired by the movie Mama Mia and the design aesthetic of the store Anthropologie, Leah and John wanted a wedding that was both relaxed and stylish. Event coordinator and florist Andrew Calvert of The Perfect Occasion, transformed the vineyard’s grassy field and patio into an elegant outdoor affair that was bathed in flowers! The ceremony took place under a giant oak tree where the couple stood underneath a bamboo trellis draped in gauzy white fabric, adorned with gorgeous floral arrangements.

Long, family-style seating made the 300+ person guest count feel like an intimate dinner party. Guests were given treats of lacey macadamia cookies, Jones Soda and their own little burlap bag carry-all draped on the back of their chair. Cafe lights strung throughout the reception gave off a warm, romantic glow once the sun began to set. A wonderful mixture of neutral colors, which included turquoise, shades of white, and gray, combined with contrasting textures of soft crepe, burlap, and silks really made this event a feast for the senses.

The adorable couple, Leah and John, who are so absolutely in love, were given a grand send-off that included giant sparklers and a little red corvette getaway car. it was a beautiful day; one that I will always remember.
