Tristen and Viktoria know that destiny brought them together after years of crossing the same path. It was a spring night in 2004 when Tristen finally found the courage to introduce himself to Viktoria. There was no turning back now; these two were a match made in heaven! Tristen and Viktoria had spent six years together before Tristen popped the question on top of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris, in 2009. While balancing her successful business of Millinery, Styling and Makeup Design, Viktoria was filled with plenty of inspiration. There was no doubt that this wedding would be filled with exquisite attention to detail with a fine balance of vintage and modern representing both Viktoria and Tristen’s style.

As a designer, Viktoria spent months working on a design for her wedding gown. Viktoria handmade her structured one shoulder creation, which was finished off with her Grandmother’s sapphire and crystal vintage broche. She spent weeks leading into the wedding hand-sewing ostrich feathers onto the dress to give the illusion of a peacock tail, which was complimented with her handmade vintage inspired crystal headpiece.

Viktoria and Tristen both enjoy the color palette of blues and greens, so it was only appropriate that the peacock colors of aqua and emerald would share this special day. Viktoria was fortunate enough to have found the perfect bridesmaids dresses from Perri Cutten, which also reflected her personality and love for peacocks. Viktoria’s couture handmade peacock fascinators provided the perfect finish to the colorful bridesmaids.

The couple wanted their wedding to be small, meaningful and elegant. They married at the beautiful St Joseph's Church O’Connor, Canberra ACT Australia by the same Catholic priest that baptized Viktoria. Their love of birds continued in their wedding theme, with extravagant white ostrich feathers and bird cages used as the main features on each table setting at the magnificent National Portrait Gallery. With handmade personalized invitations each finished with a peacock feather attached and menu cards to beautiful bird cage bomboniere this wedding theme and setting represented Tristen and Viktoria perfectly. A big crowd pleaser was the birdcage cake topper designed and made by Viktoria, which featured a male and female peacock. The male peacock stole the limelight with his handmade tail draping onto the cake.

Despite the four seasons in one day, the weather provided a marvelous backdrop for the photographer and cinematographer, with a stunning rainbow appearance a highlight. There was no holding back for these ‘love birds’ as they laughed, danced, and ran around in the rain using picture frames and bird cages as props to reflect their personalities. The couple describe the day as the ‘greatest day of their lives’ and didn’t want their photo shoot to end! The couple says that their day was perfect in every way, it featured beautiful speeches, which included plenty of emotional tears and laughs, and amazing memories which were all shared with family and friends.
