This pretty, pretty wedding, designed and planned by Dot Dot Dash and photographed by Tom Blachford Photography is pure eye candy. I’m totally loving the modern stripes juxtaposed with the earthy terra cotta pots, the all white flowers, the bride’s amazing dress (handmade by her mother!) and of course, who doesn’t just love a groom in a bow tie? And then there’s the adorable couple! I love how you can literally feel the love between them in these photos. Check out the rest of this hip, love-fest in the gallery!

We are close in age and consider ourselves quite fun and lively so we wanted this be evident in the way our event flowed. The guests arrived on the pier in front of Sketch and were served a Persian Sour Cherry Cordial which is something my mpother always serves to guests. I am a Bahai and Tim had no religous prefernce in terms of the ceremony so we had a Bahai ceremony. The beauty of the Bahai ceremony is in it’s simplicity. By bahai law we are required to recite one line to be recognised as husband and wife. We chose to add to this readings and poems recited by our closest friends in both French and English. Wanting a very relaxed vibe we also chose to walk down the aisle together. I wore a gown made by my mother which featured a draped skirt with train and crystal beaded neckline teamed with Christian Louboutin heels while Tim looked very sharp in his Calibre suit which is a modernised take on a tuxedo. The most amazing moment for me at the ceremony was while we signed our certificates and our dear friend Alice Hardie-Grant sang her rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” Tim squeezed my hand and took it to his cheek and just held it there. It was such a comforting and loving gesture and it set the tone of the rest of the day for me: relaxed, natural and loving. The reception was held at the beautiful Heide Museum of Modern Art, which was a stunning contrast to the opulent decor and setting of the ceremony venue. The room was absolutely perfect! We took out most of the furnishings and replaced them with our own. Using black and white combined with wooden furnishings, we created seating pods inside and out. In the inside room was a floral feature table which also acted as out cake table and the cheese station. We used only white floral with greenery. Assorted white arrangements filled vessels of different sizes and heights to created a full and tall feature in the centre of the room. Smaller cluster of vases with floral decorated the bar and coffee station while individual vases sat on the coffee tables and outdoor settings. Food was very important to us which is why we chose a menu by Vue de Monde Events who operate the space at Heide. The food was unquestionably delicious and beautiful presented by the friendly staff who ensured every guests whim and desire was met. In addition to all this, the venue offers you photography permits to use the extensive gardens at Heide to capture little memories. Our guests were so responsive to the beautifully present cheese platter which included a variety Australian Cheeses served with crackers and Tim’s bread. This was particularly important to us as Tim is an Artisan Baker and we felt it was important to serve some of this offering at the wedding. The night went just as we would have liked, it was relaxed but still sophisticated and there was just so much love in the room. When we got into the car to go to our hotel we just beamed at each other and were so happy that we were able to create an event that presented our personalities and tastes so perfectly. We created some memories we would never forget with the people we love most.
