When Liz and Eric wanted a Chicago style wedding in Indianapolis, we knew we had to give it to them! The unforgettable day began at the breathtaking Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where their longtime friend and priest conducted the beautiful and touching ceremony. Following the ceremony, the wedding party was whisked away in a Chicago style trolley to downtown Indianapolis for some urban shots. Then off to the gorgeous and grandiose Scottish Rite Cathedral for the reception. The Cathedral is a monumental limestone landmark, similar to many of the cathedrals in downtown Chicago.
The couple were spellbound as the Scottish Rite Cathedral's large wooden castle like doors were thrust open into their majestic two storied reception ballroom. Thousands of crystals danced on the tables from the massive chandeliers hanging throughout the room. The wedding palette was a stunning selection of moss greens, violets and fuchsias. The room glowed as candles flickered and happy smiles twinkled throughout the night. It was truly old style Chicago elegance, rich in lush decor. The ballroom was encircled by ornately carved wooden columns, fine carved walls and jewelled leaded windows and custom lighting spotlighted this architectural treasure and all its beauty.
The ultimate Windy City Wow was the candy bar display from Chicago's Fudge Pot. An elaborate array of chocolate toffees, vintage candies, enormous turtles and creamy fudge enticed guests all evening. We've got to say the candy bar was busier than Michigan Avenue that night! We were delighted in our coordination of this Chicago style event as guests discovered that Indy is certainly "Our Kinda Town."
