We’re in Day Four of Style Me Pretty’s Wedding FilmFest ~ and today’s short film from Marrone Video Productions stars Natacha, Jean-Marc and Mathias in an emotionally charged same-day-edit from one of Montreal’s finest!
The full celebration from morning preparations in their luxurious suites to a spectacular roof-top ceremony overlooking the old port of Montreal took place at a private club. They had a romantic reception and offered a private viewing of Montreal’s evening fireworks. It was such a pleasure to film this magical event, filled with such emotion and stunning imagery.
When Natacha speaks her vows, she says what may live in history at SMP as THE perfect wedding quote of all times. Listen closely ~ and remember it always …
“Maybe you know … as long as we have each other … the rest is extra.”
Natacha, Jean-Marc and Mathias’ Story
Our inspiration
The Golden Rule! We prepared this wedding ~ just the 3 of us. No friends or families were involved in the making. All they had to do was to show up and enjoy! We wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities. It was intimate (just 30 of our closest friends and family), rich in color and most of all “Très Chic”! The most important aspect, though, was to create a bond with Mathias, my 15 year old son. He walked me down the aisle & he received the same wedding band during the ceremony as ours.
Our wedding planning
Having Cheryl Domingo as our wedding planner was key: Not only for her expertise but also for her trusted vendors. It made everything so easy to be surrounded by pros. We had a vision, she made it happen. Everything had to take place under the same roof and we got the privilege to have our celebration at a Private Club in Old Montreal. Once the vendors got to know us and our taste (including our budget!), we gave them “Carte Blanche”. They got so excited that it brought the best out in them and they blew us away!
Focal point
I did my homework (boy do I have magazines & bookmarks!) and found a starting point. Surprisingly, this turned out to be my shoes! Crystal gold- Louboutin. And with that, our colour scheme came alive: Cherry Red, Gold and Deep Violet to go with the majestic private club! Pheasant feather accessories and decor represented Jean-Marc’s passion for nature, hunting and country living. And the hanging crystals ~ that was me!
The wedding day
At the Club, my trusted makeup and hair stylist, Richard, did his magic inside the fabulous suite. The video and photo shoot took place at the Old Port. We walked around among tourists and the locals. Little girls would make a sudden stop to look at my dress and their jaws would drop! I would take the time to say “bonjour” and those moments with them made me feel like Cinderella.
We invited only 30 of our closest friends & family. The gentlemen wore their best tuxedos and the women were glowing in their fine dresses. The ceremony took place on the roof top over looking the Old Port of Montreal where we first kissed and the same place where Jean-Marc proposed; a great continuity.
In honor of being newly wed and to begin the celebration, Jean-Marc used a saber to open our magnum of champagne. We spared no details in treating our guests as royalty, a tribute for their love and friendship. One large rectangular table was set for the sumptuous six-course dinner. Each course was introduced, with its selected wine, by the Sommelier of the club. Their last gift of the evening was a silver picture frame (Birks) with a photo of THEM taken just hours ago on the roof top.
Setting the mood
The Dj had 3 music station: roof top, dinner hall & lounge. He followed the mood and created a breathtaking ambiance for each venue. Roof top- Classic: Lakme: Sous le dome épais, “Flower Duet”. For dinner: Angel of Love-S.James. For dance-lounge on Depeche Mode & Daft Punk! Another key aspect was that The Club was equipped with surround-sound throughout the “manoir” so the music was playing everywhere you were.
Our decision to have a film made
During the months of wedding planning, time and time again, we heard our married friends say that their wedding day passed ‘in the blink of an eye’! Many told us that their wedding videos are priceless. While not originally in our plans, we decided to go for it and to find someone special who would be able to capture OUR day on film. And since we live in the “NOW” age, we even decided we wanted to see our video the next day!
To be able to watch and relive our wedding video online and share it with our close friends and family is priceless! My new husband ~ so opposed to the idea at first, was touched beyond belief when we relived the moments again. For us, our wedding film tells a story. Our story.
We hope that you enjoy our film, and that you too, will make the decision to find a cinematographer as talented as Marrone Video to allow you to relive your wedding day as well!
Avec Amour,
Natacha & Jean-Marc
