We gave you a quick look a little while ago at Mackenzie and Sam's St. Louis wedding, expertly choreographed by the dynamic team at Cosmopolitan Events. And as they say, now, it's time for the rest of the story!
Here's where we left off ...
From Mackenzie ~ I wanted a very classic but glamorous wedding. So for a color palette, I stuck to black and white with a pop of fuchsia for my accent color. I was dead set on finding the perfect one-shoulder dress, so when I tried on this Romona Keveza, I knew it was the one. A high waisted belt, ruffle and mermaid shape...what more could I want to look super glam? I added a short, 4 tiered Toni Federici Swarovski encrusted veil to make it even more unique and to add to the dramatic look! The front layer was used as a blusher when I walked down the aisle to meet my groom ...

One of the most important parts of our wedding day were the people who were there to share it with us. Each one of my bridesmaids stood by my side for a reason and I wanted them to know how special they are to me. So, I personally chose the bouquet they were going to carry based on the meaning of the flower itself. Right before we left for the ceremony, I gave my girls a handwritten letter describing what flower I chose for them – including its meaning. To top it off, my bouquet consisted of each of their flowers – representing how I became who I am. I also added a family tradition – stephanotis, which my mother and sister in law (my Matron of honor) carried in their bouquets. The groomsmen had coordinating single blooms on their vest to match the bridesmaid they walked down the aisle. My bouquet was tied with Sam’s grandmother’s hanky, that she got from her groom over 50 years prior. I was lucky enough to be one of the several brides who carried that in his family.
THEN for the celebration ... and what a celebration it was!!
For the venue – I wanted something that not many people had used, so we took a risk with a newly renovated building ~ The Paladium ~ in St. Louis. It was actually the old laundry facilities for St. Louis City Hospital with a loft feel. And it worked PERFECTLY. Although they provided a great “skin” for the reception - I wanted to add special touches to fit my vision. White leather chairs and cubed-light up cocktail tables surrounded the white dance floor. And funky patterns swirled across the floor – while the room changed colors throughout the night. An 8’ light up bar was placed at the top of the room as a center focus and behind it sat an 8’x8’ black grid that showcased our bouquets and was filled with candles. On the walls – we had a custom monogram made with a chandelier and our names. The monogram was also used on our menu cards, wedding programs, and napkins. For flowers I wanted everything to be white. I love large clusters of a single flower to make for a dramatic and classy look. I turned to the fabulous Tony Montano of Montano Grant in NYC to help create my perfect vision. As a gift to our guests, ladies from Cosmopolitan Events handed guests one of the 8 large flower bouquets that sat on each table as they departed the venue. A small ribbon with a “thank you” note was tied around the flowers.
And finally, what better way to end a glamorous night than with a sparkler send off?
As we exited the stairs of the Palladium, guests lit up our walkway with sparklers – a perfect ending, to a perfect night!
From Josie at Cosmopolitan Events ~ Mackenzie's wedding was exciting to plan, she challenged ideas and created new ones. She knew exactly what she wanted from the beginning and making her wedding a reality was so highly satisfying. From words to images to reality, I loved seeing the vision come together!
