Who says you have to sacrifice style for tradition and vice versa? This next wedding by Meg Perotti is proof that you can blend culture, tradition and style into one picture perfect package. Angela and Geoff wanted to create a celebration that reflected their personalities while incorporating elements from her Chinese heritage and honoring their parents. Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains, their vintage-inspired, “East meets West”, vineyard fête created the ideal atmosphere for a magical night of love and laughter. Big props to Angela, a jewelry designer, for creating all the lovely details including the paper goods and the jewelry for the bridal party. There is oh-so much more vibrant and breathtaking inspiration in the gallery!

From Angela, the bride –
“Geoff and I really wanted to make sure that our wedding was truly a celebration about us: Angela & Geoff. I didn’t want to get lost in all the details that come with planning a wedding but, there were definitely certain elements we wanted to include like my Chinese heritage for one, our love for fine wine and dining, the outdoors, and honoring our parents who got us here today. Our vision was really simple, “East meets West” themed garden party, a bit of vintage glamour mixed with subtle hints of Asian and English influences, bright colored lanterns, lots little kids running around, and lots of love and laughter.
We wanted to include some Chinese wedding traditions without being too traditional. Some of the things we incorporated were, having a tea ceremony during our wedding ceremony to honor our parents and we also included the Chinese double happiness character in some of the details. It was on our wedding invitations, our “Tea for Two” themed wedding favors, which were muslin bags filled with 2 blossoming tea bulbs, and a box with Chinese red envelopes for guests to write us well wishes so that we can read them on our wedding anniversaries.
Most of the wedding is a blur now and thankfully we had the lovely and talented Meg Perotti as our photographer who captured the event and the emotions so vividly and beautifully for us. As I look back, the part I remember the most was the ceremony and for me the most important part of the day. We were lucky to have our brother-in-law James officiate the ceremony and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect person. James, truly made the wedding what it was…a celebration about us, about our parents, about our families, about our friends, about our past, our present and now our future together. In the end, I learned that you can plan the heck out of the wedding, it may still not go perfectly as planned, but no one really notices. What really matters is the fact that Geoff and I truly feel lucky and loved.”
Thank you, Angela and Geoff, for sharing your gorgeous and heartfelt day with us!
