Most of the time, very dramatic and edgy designs don’t make it to the pages of Style Me Pretty. But today’s wedding? Oh my goodness! It is over-the-top, simple gorgeousness, in a way that everyone will go gaga over! I know I did. Now THIS is the way to do old Hollywood romance!! There is just something so alluring about these dark jeweled tones set against the beautiful backdrop. Stunning. And of course we totally love any couple that let their style and personalities really shine through on their big day. This glamorous Southern California affair by La Fleur Weddings & Events is a total show stopper.

From the very talented Jill La Fleur…
One of my favorite weddings of 2009 was Heather & Chad’s intimate 50 person wedding at Bacara Resort & Spa. Heather had such a unique, clear vision of what she wanted…dramatic, artistic, darkly romantic, theatrical, with an old Hollywood flair. Heather, a floral designer, her sister, a jewelry designer & their mother are all artists. Heather designed her own invitations, her own headpiece, as well as her own necklace that she paired with a beaded necklace from her sister’s collection (loved the skull and cross bones going down her back!) Her mother designed the center pieces at the rehearsal dinner. It’s no wonder there was such creative design to this special weekend!
One of my favorite moments was when Heather (the bride) came to the rehearsal dinner venue with me, to help me decorate the table. Here it was the night before her big day, the moment when many brides start to really get nervous, and Heather decided she wanted to come and spend time helping me set up. We had such a nice time together, just the two of us!
