My dears, I could not be more excited to bring you a Style Me Pretty exclusive today. You may have heard the rumors, but I’m here to confirm that a new and crazy-cool style venture is coming to your inbox very very soon ~ Rue Magazine! Little teasers have slipped out here and there, but the fabulous and uber-talented co-founders of Rue, Anne Sage of The City Sage and Crystal Gentilello of Plush Palete, were kind enough to slip SMP our very own sneak preview! My jaw literally dropped when I saw these pictures. Shot by the coveted wedding photog Max Wanger in the studios of just-as-coveted ban.do, I knew immediately that these girls were on to something big.
I had the opportunity to talk with Anne and Crystal about Rue Magazine and get some insight into their dream-come-true. Here’s what they had to say:
Tell us more about Rue Magazine.
Rue Magazine is an online interiors and entertaining magazine with a fashion and lifestyle sensibility. Rue is for everyone searching for the inspiration and resources to design their most stylish life. You’ll find interiors advice for decorating your first home. Party ideas for that upcoming bridal shower or bachelorette. Shopping guides for building your ultimate registry. Plus behind the scenes videos, printable social stationery, playlists and more. Founded by style bloggers Crystal Gentilello and Anne Sage–whose work has appeared on Style Me Pretty –Rue is the must-read for brides both before and after they walk down the aisle!
Why did you start Rue?
We love blogging–it’s brought us to where we are today–but we were craving more. We wanted to create 100% original content, and we wanted to do it with a group of friends and colleagues who share our obsession with interiors, entertaining and style. So far the process has been more satisfying than we could possibly have imagined. There’s nothing more rewarding than bringing together the perfect team. From finding the ideal photographer to finalizing even the smallest detail, starting a magazine hasn’t been all that different than planning a wedding–including just as much hair-pulling and troubleshooting!
What can brides and the wedding obsessed (like me!) hope to get out of Rue?
For starters, each issue of Rue will overflow with tabletops, floral arrangements, menus, DIY’s, downloadable stationery and more–all the goodies a bride-to-be can’t get enough of. And at Rue we firmly believe that inspiration is everywhere; a bride might find her color palette in the fabric of a pillow, or her invitation motif in a piece of art. So Rue has an ‘Eye Candy Guarantee’. We promise you’ll grab each and every page for your inspiration folder!
What is your favourite thing and/or top tip about weddings?
We love how weddings have become an expression of personality for the bride and groom. All the thought and hard work that goes into that special day shines from their faces. Everything from the flavor of the cake to the flounce of her dress reflects their interests and their passions. And we love that so many couples are continuing to express themselves through details large and small after the wedding. They build their new home together—Roman shades or Venitian blinds?– and they invite friends and family to share their new life–Prosecco or Pellegrino? At Rue we’ll give readers the resources and inspiration to design their joy.
About this sneak peak:
When we heard that our fave accessories label ban.do was having a birthday, we invited ourselves over for an ice cream social! We can’t tell you all the details now–we have to keep some surprises, after all!–but we can say that the ban.do girls rock, and so did our special guests. The party was a blast–we’re still finding confetti in our hair!
Can’t get enough of Rue? You can check out a few more previews on Shelterpop, CasaSugar, Plush Palete and The City Sage.
Cheers luvies, *Mrs. E ~ apartment 34
