This wedding is gorgeous. Flat. out. gorgeous. And it’s a bit of a departure from some of the weddings that we’ve been featuring lately…with a rich, warm palette and a sense of sophistication that literally gave me butterflies. It’s the twinkle lights, the ceramic vessels, the rustic and yet unbelievably elegant florals, the ridiculously gorgeous bride in her ridiculously gorgeous gown…it’s the layer upon layer of style that make this wedding, designed by the fabulous Rebecca Feeney of Custom Event Group, that is making me crazy happy. From Rebecca Feeney…I knew from my first conversation with Kimberly that I was in for a treat! She loves to think outside the box, she loves amazing fabrics, buckets of local micro brews, authentic designs, fresh produce, seasonal flowers and gardening. A match made in heaven! And her new husband Scot is every bit as wonderful.
Cornerstone Gardens is a jovial and welcoming property with darling shops and courtyards, random art installations and hidden treasure gardens. To help folks navigate to the ceremony, the cocktail reception, dinner and dancing, we put up whimsical chalkboard signs directing the way. It was our way of paying tribute to ‘Kimberly-teacher-of-the-year.’
The ceremony chuppah was adorned with bundles of fragrant herbs and local lavender. Betsy with La Tavola Fine Linen custom made the Irish linen chuppah covering so that they could take it with them to always be a part of their lives. Kimberly wanted refreshing lavender colors and purply blues, her bouquet was a work of art.
The cocktail reception was set around a picturesque barn and on the lush surrounding lawn; we kept up the chalkboard theme for the ‘escort cards’. Children were a welcome and big part of this wedding, we set up kites and croquet on the lawn. It was a joyous and unpretentious reception.
From the cocktails, we escorted the guests to a hidden courtyard where we had set up a 130’ long dinner table. The custom silk table linen in moss tones and the amazing garden inspired tablescape were breathtaking – truly a feast for the eyes. Kathy Hoffman outdid herself yet again with the flowers. Each inch was heartfelt and artful. We pulled in personal garden containers and props of every shape, size and purpose. And Kathy’s own collection of botanicals, potted trees and topiaries graced the table. Elaine Bell’s talented crew and chefs flawlessly served the long table. Sitting in the courtyard with the Italian lights above, surrounded by olive trees, echoing laughter and celebration felt like a scene from a movie.
At the conclusion of dinner, we escorted the guests back to the barn to a cozy lounge, tunes from Big City Review, a gourmet coffee bar and fresh blueberry wedding cake by Cecile with Cakework.
