Happy Monday to everyone! As always, we have a terrific lineup for you this week on The Little Black Book Blog, including weddings, photo shoots, wedding films ~ from Texas to Canada and back again! First up, Amy and Jared’s beautiful Hill Country wedding at the spectacular Barton Creek Resort.

Sent to us by Shannon at The Inviting Pear, with Floral Design by The Last Petal, this wedding embraces all that is steeped in tradition and beauty and most of all love!
We asked Shannon {The Inviting Pear} to tell us a little bit about the wedding invitation design process …
The first (and only) time I met Amy was at her parents’ beautiful home overlooking the Hill Country in Austin. There was quite a crowd at our consultation…her fiancé, Jared, his parents, her parents, her sister and Becky, her wedding planner. Since I’m a graphic designer and I create all my invitations from scratch, I don’t have catalogs that a client orders from. Instead I show several books of mine that display my past work. This helps me figure out the client’s personality and style. I quickly learned that they all loved the pocketfold look (where the enclosure cards are held securely in a side pocket). Due to the high volume of out-of-town guests, this was the perfect choice. At the time, the colors were purple with accents of gold and cream. They were drawn to sophisticated and geometric-based designs and loved the pearlescent metallic papers. They also wanted guests to know that this was a Jewish wedding so we decided at that time to include the wording “under the chuppah” on the invitation. Once we got started on designs, we worked together for the next few months over email (as they were traveling during the entire planning process!). We did have one minor glitch! After receiving their hard copy proof, Amy emailed me to say that she had changed her wedding colors! We were already in a time crunch, but we made it happen! The end result was a beautiful pocketfold invitation. Guests opened the white pearlescent metallic envelope to a matching white pocketfold wrapped in purple satin ribbon and Amy and Jared’s custom-designed monogram. Inside, the invitation was backed with textured purple cardstock to add depth. And the pocket held the details of the wedding. The entire invitation brought to life everyone’s vision…a Hill Country wedding with tons of glam. From that point, we designed all of the reception collateral from the programs to the escort cards (which were color-coded based on meal choice) and table cards to the menus and bar signs.
As we said at the beginning ~ Amy & Jared’s celebration of marriage is all that and more! A true celebration of love!
