Rustic Fall Wedding by Kate Webber Photography

Rustic is quickly becoming my favorite genre of wedding.  Woodsy, earthy and gorgeous – um, what’s not to love?   This particular rustic wedding shot by Kate Webber has given me a bad case of wedding envy.   All this orange/pink goodness swirled together with the natural beauty of the great outdoors…sigh!   However color palette, gorgeous bride, killer flowers and tablescape aside….I have one word for you guys: s’mores.  Now that’s a true rustic wedding dessert!  More delicious pictures from this wedding can be found in the wedding gallery. xoxo Chantale from La Belle Bride

From Lizzy, the sweet bride:

Matt and I knew we either want to get married on Block Island, where Matt proposed, or in Northern California, where I grew up. When we got engaged, I was living in Berkeley for law school and Matt was still in NYC. One day I went out to Nestldown, a special private retreat in the Santa Cruz mountains, and the moment I arrived I knew it was perfect. We had been moments away from choosing another spot, but this place took my breath away. I literally took over 100 pictures the day I visited the site so Matt could feel like he was there with me.

We wanted a traditional ceremony, yet one that reflected our relationship. So while we kept the traditional vows, we picked readings that were important memories from our childhoods. Matt chose a reading from the Velveteen Rabbit, a book his parents read to him as a child. And I picked a passage from Shakespeare, since my father is a Shakespeare professor! Watching our parents listen to the readings was a wonderful moment. We had the violinist lead the guests up the steps at the end of the ceremony and lead them, a take on the Pied Piper, to the cocktail lawn for hors d’oeuvres , mojitos and some bacci ball!

The most important part of the wedding for us was that everyone there had a blast, and we made every wedding-related decision with that goal in mind. We wanted our wedding style to be rustic, elegant, intimate, fun, relaxed and happy. We chose a palette of warm fall colors consisting of raspberry, apple green, burnt orange and deep wine accents. Chinese lanterns was a theme that ran throughout the invitations, ceremony programs, favors and dinner table arrangements, highlighting a beautiful bright burnt orange color. We also served s’mores, which guests made outside, gathered around a fire pit. In the whirlwind of the evening, we didn’t get a chance to make one ourselves, but so many of our friends have told us how fun it was to enjoy the summer camp treat.
