Xiaopeng Li and Angel’s Wedding

If you’ve never watched a wedding video on our site (’cause your boss might be looking over your shoulder or something)…now is the time to cave. This is officially the best wedding video I have ever seen in my entire life. And although I don’t want to give away too much, because I REALLY want you to devour it completely unbiased, I will tell you that Elysium knocked it clear out of the park with this. Oh and to make it even cooler, the dreamy groom is none other than Chinese Olympic gold medal gymnast Xiaopeng Li!

I mean…how completely awesome is that!? It’s pretty much the best thing that I have ever seen and I am SO thrilled that Elysium has let us debut it right here on Style Me Pretty. Here’s what the gorgeous bride, Angel, had to say…

Julie from Elysium Productions and our planner Carolyn asked us if we wanted to film our Same Day Edit as a music video. “Yeah we do!”. We went through so many songs and finally decided on Michael Buble’s “Just Haven’t Met You Yet.” Xiaopeng was very nervous to sing the song even though he’s preformed in front of millions at the Olympics. Turns out he is a natural in front of the camera. We did 5 takes throughout the wedding day and it turned out wonderfully! Our guests were soooo surprised. We’re so happy and we love the video!!! We showed it at our China reception and our guest there we equally impressed because it was so unique and fun.

If you’re dying to see more from this beautiful wedding, Victor Sizemore sent a ton of gorgeous images our way and the bride (who I am kind of thinking might be the most beautiful bride on the planet) sent us over the story of their day. You can click here to see even more!

From the bride, Angel…My younger sister would take golf lessons occasionally on Saturday afternoons The Pelican Hill Resort. That’s how I found the perfect venue for our wedding. The site is absolutely stunning. I used to stop by on Saturdays and sneak a peek at the vendors setting up for weddings. After finding the venue it was off to find a planner. Our wedding planner Carolyn Chen was FABULOUS! Without her, there would be no wedding. She was recommended by a few people in the wedding industry and after meeting with her I knew she was a perfect match for us. Carolyn understood our style and made it a reality. We chose blush pink, light turquoise and pearl as our colors. We wanted the feel to be romantic but also youthful and vibrant. Our photographer Victor C. Sizemore captured the day perfectly. We kept the wedding very westernized because we were also having a huge Chinese wedding in Beijing.

For the ceremony we wanted it to feel intimate and warm. We decided to have a theater in the round style seating at the ceremony so that everyone was in a circle with us exchanging vows in the middle. It was very cool seeing all of our friends and family around us. Kind of like “a circle of love”. The gazebo we got married under was so magnificent! Our florist Nisie went so above and beyond. I knew from all of our meetings that it was going to be beautiful, but seeing the reality of that gazebo was so breathtaking. I wore a magnificent custom made dress by two lovely ladies in Los Angeles, Patty Sanchez and Maria Park. Our photo booth and blue/pink candy bar was a big hit.

It was a fabulous day. I believe it was the perfect mix of romance and fun. Thinking back on the wedding day, looking at the photos and watching the video, I sometimes can’t believe that was my wedding…too good to be true!!!!! It was so beautiful and dreamy! Everything came together perfectly. I’m the luckiest girl in the whole world. I married the greatest guy and had the BEST wedding.

PS. I’d like to thank my sister Ling Ling for playing golf at Pelican Hill. Without her I probably would have never discovered the place and also for making the greatest maid of honor toast ever!

Big props to Victor Sizemore for shooting such a great vignette!
