We are loving all the engagement shoots sent to us by our Little Black Book photographers! We really wish we could feature all of them. You know we are firm believers in spending a day prior to the wedding with your photographers to get to know them … to allow them get to know you … and for many of you, to enjoy the experience of what will be the first formal portraits of the two of you together! All of you ~ every single one of you ~ totally need to take some serious notes today and Friday. We have six e*sessions that vary widely in styling and settings, but that share one common denominator ~ the vibrancy of two people madly in love!
This first session is from Kirstie, the mega-talented lady-in-action at Orange Girl Photographs.
Laura and Kenya’s courtship involved a lot of travel. They plan to incorporate travel as a theme into their wedding. Knowing that travel played a big part in their relationship I suggested that we use the train station in Banff as a starting place for their engagement photographs. We also thought it would be fun to put the vintage twist in it and Laura started scouring etsy for their wardrobe. When we arrived at the Banff train station I was thrilled to discover a vintage train I had never seen parked at the station. It fit with our theme perfectly.
The vintage 1952 silver Bentley was a perfect addition to the shoot. Not only was it wonderful for photographs, but it gave Laura and Kenya a unique experience on their engagement shoot to be chauffeured from location to location!
Laura and Kenya were so fun to photograph ~ they brought a lot of thought, creativity and energy to our engagement shoot which truly inspired me as a photographer. I love seeing couples finding ways to personalize their shoot. I am even more excited for their wedding day now!
See the whole shoot on Kirstie’s blog!
