Celebration of Spring Inspiration Shoot by Carmen Salazar

Oh inspiration shoots, how I love thee.  Let me count the ways: I adore your antique bird cages, your layered personal cakes, your colorful colorfulness, your avant-garde nature-infused hair accessories, your nest inspired couture floral rings, and your teal and yellow bumble bee ties.  How you inspire me to go forth and create my own inspiration shoots, in my bedroom, with my sticker collections that I’ve had since I was five, and my pretty little Anthro dresses, and my Betty Crocker cake mixes.  But, inspiration shoots, you are nothing without the collaboration of talented vendors… I most certainly could not create what we have here today in my bedroom.  Thank goodness creative, design-minded folks like Carmen Salazar, Shelley Larkin, Kristina Smith and Audrey Chaney get together, so that we get to experience the sweet, stunning wonderment that can be seen below.  Without further adieu, here we go!  (Or check out the gallery for all the action at once!)  — xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

Here are a few words on how this all came together:

Spring brings to mind birds chirping, flowers blooming and weather to breath new life into the cold Winter which just past.  The Celebration of Spring is all about bringing these things to life, and what better way than an inspirational shoot to feature Spring at her finest!  The fresh minds of Carmen Salazar, Shelley Larkin, Kristina Smith and Audrey Chaney all brought together their ideas and eclectic props to create an inspirational shoot Spring would be proud of!

The table decor we selected was eclectic, varying in style and colors to create an interest to this farm-style table, and to “pop” against the lush garden surrounding.  The back of the bride and groom’s black and cerise chairs were finished off with needlepoint frames with a B and G to signify where the newlyweds would sit.  With a wooden bird cage as our centerpiece, moss, colorful florals and a touch of wrought iron meshed the surrounding garden-side with this Spring tabletop.  Place settings sat atop hand-embroidered doilies with mismatched plates.  Layered personal cakes created in yellow-footed glassware were topped off with decadent sweet frosting and a red raspberry.

Jesse, our groom wore a custom gray suit complimented with a teal and yellow bumble bee tie.  His colorful boutonniere and pocket square added to the look of the day.  Kailee, our bride wore a timeless gown enhanced with a modern “something blue” twist with her turquoise belt.  She also fashioned a delphinium wide banded belt created with real flowers.  A moss top-hat added a fun prop as she posed by the table.  Her nest inspired couture floral ring was created with silver brunia, moss and berzelia.

Hand-crafted floral print birds hung from branches are the perfect spot to steal a kiss.  Spring takes flight as these two love birds ride off into the sunset.

We had such a great time creating this avian, Spring themed photo shoot.  From collecting our personal pieces of china and stemware to selecting the accessories to tie this look together, we were all so inspired and we think you will be as well!

Thank you for sharing this whimsical wonderland of inspiration, ladies!  It’s truly the uniquest of the unique, to the nth degree.  Just how I likes my inspirations.
