If you aren’t already sitting down, you’re gonna need to find a chair. This is possibly the most lovely inspiration I’ve ever seen. Seriously, I’m not even exaggerating this time. We’re talking champagne slushies (the coolest), a GORGEOUS Saja dress (who I am obsessed with) and flowers that are literally making me cry (literally). They’re just that perfect. A huge thank you to the fabulous designer behind the day, Cynthia Martyn for inspiring me more than I thought was humanly possible. You can click here to see even more swoon-worthy deets.

From Cynthia Martyn…I decided to put together a Spring photo shoot on a whim, since I had so much fun putting together an Inspiration to Reality shoot for you earlier this year. For this shoot, we assembled another great team of mostly Toronto-based wedding professionals, with Rebecca Wood Photography capturing all of our images with her amazing use of space and light. The team crafted a whimsical Spring wedding fete that was inspired by the vintage style which is so popular right now, but we wanted to pair that with more modern elements to give the look a bit of an edge. Rebecca Wood works out of a beautiful photography studio, and we were thrilled when she agreed to host our shoot in her lovely space!
One of the themes of the shoot was to bring a bit of the outside indoors, creating a garden-like atmosphere in a modern venue. Coral was our base colour, accented with lots of white and hits of darker pink and soft blush, with an eclectic mix of patterns seen in the stationery designed by Christine Flynn from Love The Design. We wanted to throw a little Viceroy Hotel into the mix, and Christine did a great job of translating the vision to the printed elements.
For florals, the lovely ladies at Stemz never cease to amaze me – they brought in Coral Peonies that were the size of dinner plates, and not only did they look luscious on the table, but Fiona Liston, the proprietress, made an amazing Peony chandelier treatment to hang over our table.
For the fashion styling, I pulled a dress from my bridal boutique (Sash & Bustle Boutique) by designer Saja Wedding (Style DU6556). I adore this collection, the soft, ethereal dresses are gorgeous, and Katie, our model / real bride getting married in less than a month, had a super fun time twirling around the studio in this pretty gown. We pinned some fluttery coral and pink hair flowers from Handle & Spout to tie in our overall colour scheme.

The cake was designed by Lori Hutchinson, also known as The Caketress. Lori is a rising star in the cake world, and her creations always leave me speechless. Lori spent hours crafting pom pom flowers and vintage gold keys all made out of sugar & icing. Amazing!
My favourite detail: we served “Champagne Slushies” in flutes with old school paper straws; a refreshing twist on your standard sparkling served at every wedding. By adding some pink lemonade to sparkling wine or champagne, a bit of crushed ice, and run through the blender for a few seconds, you create a champagne cocktail reminiscent of childhood, but can be served just as easily for a backyard bbq or a formal affair.
