My fiancé and I have a love for anything and everything vintage and rustic. When envisioning the style we wanted, it seemed pretty clear which route we wanted to take. The venue we picked, Murietta’s Well, complimented the style and the vision perfectly as it had a vintage and rustic look with the dark wood, wine barrels and huge sliding doors. Ultimately our vision was a cozy relaxing environment that had every inch covered in personal ~ DIY wedding touches.

We love antique shopping and ended up finding the vintage books and wine crates after looking around a few local ones. We found an Etsy shop who made burlap flowers which I tied around each mason jar for the centerpieces. She also made the burlap date sign, which was a personal touch that we loved. All the chalkboards and table numbers were personally made by my fiancé who is an amazing wood and faux finisher. We used these all around the space in lots of different areas.

Our bouquets were beautiful. Since ranunculus were out of season, our florist made some out of wood. They were so gorgeous. The bouquets were filled with these wood flowers and white peonies. The boutonnieres were also made of the wood flowers as well. This allowed everyone to have a personal keepsake from our wedding.

Oh the wedding tree! A friend of ours actually flew out from Florida for our wedding 2 days earlier and painted that beautiful tree! Instead of a traditional sign in table, each person put a finger print as a “leaf” of the tree and signed their name! Everyone had a lot of fun with it, and we now have a beautiful piece of art to hang in our home.

I love creating invitations and paper goods so it only seemed fitting that I do it myself for my wedding. I spent countless hours getting the invitation just right. I loved the style of bold unique fonts that just speak for themselves. I had a return address stamps and logo stamp made for the wedding. The invitations ended up coming out beautifully. We decided to use kraft envelopes since I love these natural colors.

For wedding favors we decided to make a personalized CD with songs that we both love and songs that really expressed our love. We made a playlist of 18 songs and put them in kraft paper cd cases with a personalized stamp on the cover. On the CD we used our “wedding logo” stamp to personalize it even more.

As for the bridesmaids, I let them pick their own dresses as long as they fit the vintage romantic style and picked a color. This gave them a chance to be able to show off each personal style.

My dress was from the Vineyard Collection. I wanted something lace and elegant with a sweetheart neckline. I wanted to do something bold with my shoes so that when they popped out, they were memorable. I picked the gold sequin shoes with rhinestones for this. I also got a chunky statement necklace which went incredibly well with the dress. To keep it pretty simple, I got some diamond stud earrings from Kate Spade and did a simple birdcage veil with a Lo Boheme hairpiece.

I really wanted to look back in 20 years and see all that we did to create such a personable and memorable wedding, and I think we definitely achieved that.
