Lets change it up a bit and take a looky loo at a pretty country club wedding straight from Ohio. The bride was inspired by sunny summer days and wove pops of yellow throughout her Labor Day Weekend Wedding. Sent to us by Genevieve and James Nisly, this is outdoor wedding bliss lined with tons of fluffy pomanders and can I please say that I am totally obsessed with the cookies…too cute. From the Bride:
The theme of the wedding was Sophisticated Country. Over all the goal was for it to be sweet, simple, and for all the excitement to be in the details. I wanted it to have a classic modern feel with all the elegance and none of the cliches. The colors express the theme well in that the butter yellow gives a soft bright and upbeat feel, and the Navy adds the timeless sophistication. One example of this would be my wedding gown, it has simple lines but yet was unique in the treatment near the neckline. Instead of having a lot of “just Ok” elements I wanted to pick just a few so the vision was clear. I wanted shape and design of the dress to be fully communicated so I didn’t want beading, just a timeless beautiful shape. Something I could look back on in 50 years and still think it was beautiful.
The vision for this wedding was for all guests to have a wonderful experience, and to enjoy the beautiful Labor day weekend. One of the most important design elements was a bright sunny day, which we were so blessed to have. With rainy weekends leading up the wedding day it made us a bit nervous because so much of the experience was outside. Specifically, the vision for the ceremony with the flowers running along the aisle, with the white pomanders. Another aspect that was important to us was getting the party started right away, so immediately after we said our “I do’s” we wanted the band to start playing, and people to start eating. We had cookies, confections, hor dourves, lemonade, even blue and yellow martinis, all so our guests could start enjoying our marriage celebration right away. At some weddings you find the cocktail hour as a possible time to have the experience a slow down while the couple is taking photos, so we really wanted to do everything we could to have our guest just enjoy the beautiful day immediately after our vows. Also we split the time up so the band would play dance music during the cocktail hour, then continue their set after dinner. We did have to compensate them for the time they were waiting during dinner, but it gave them a nice break and nothing can replace a bright sunny day with great food and music instead of waiting until the late evening to start dancing.
