Colorful Santa Barbara Wedding

I love living in New England, but every now and then I wish that my backyard had palm trees and that flowers bloomed all year round. So when I saw this colorful California wedding photographed by the talented Amanda Rae, I had one of those moments. Then I saw the couple’s adorable pooch and my heart melted. I just loved their sophisticated tropical style and their playful personalities, top that off with stunning florals and now I’m going to be day dreaming about orchids and sunshine the rest of the week. The bride, Monica, and the groom, Ali were married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Fun fact: It used to be that if you wanted to get married at the SB Courthouse it was first come, first served, so it was very likely that you could show up on your wedding date and have 10 other brides planning to get married there that day…now they finally take reservations!

Monica got ready at the gorgeous Fess Parker Double Tree where I was able to take my new favorite shoe shot with her awesome pink shoes on top of a pink bougainvillea bush (ironically, she also got ready in the Bougainvillea wing of the hotel). I also loved that she matched her shoes to her tattoo! And the grooms pink paisley tie made me ga-ga!

During the middle of the ceremony, they took a second to point out where their beloved dog, Bradley, was and Monica laughed so hard at her adorable pup all dressed for the occasion!

The reception was at Stella Mare’s. The cutest French Country restaurant, ever. The portion of the restaurant that they held the reception was in a greenhouse. If I could get married again it would definitely be in a greenhouse restaurant! The little details of the french country setting in the greenhouse room were way too cute! The reception had about 50 guests so the greenhouse setting was perfect for a small intimate wedding. And the food at Stella Mare’s is exquisite! The huge stone fireplace just added to the intimate warmth.
