Robin and Vaughn planned their DIY wedding by collecting their talented friends to help out with their wedding. While the couple lives in Washington DC, they decided to have their wedding in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn where Robin lived while they dated. The Brooklyn area was very special to her with its cobblestone streets and artistic character. Robin wanted a very eclectic look and something different that represented their personalities. They also wanted to use small companies to support the community and aspiring artists like themselves.
For their flowers, they wanted something different. And luckily, their friend Eloise Corr Danch had the perfect solution. She has become well known in the crafting world. She has appeared on Martha Stewart’s Birthday Show, demonstrating how to make these beautiful paper flowers. She has also appeared in W Magazine as well as done window installations for Macy’s in NY. They loved their photographer, for her different style. And for the invitations, Robin had a friend at Hello Lucky! custom design their invites.
