Brooklyn Wedding of Atelier Isabey, II

For me, this wedding is magic. And seeing the sketches develop and come to life is a lesson in good design. And although I am not surprised in the slightest that the talented duo behind the wedding invitation brand Atelier Isabey pulled this together, I am thrilled to devour it nonetheless. It’s Brooklyn at its finest, style at its most beautiful and romance that literally jumps right off the pages. And I am madly, madly in love. Click here to see more!

We were very fortunate to have great vendors to work with, many of which are part of the Little Black Book. We worked with Annie of Daughter of Design and Barb of Hatch Creative Studio who helped bring to life our vision. We created all of our stationery and I really loved weaving in elements of the theme of a Botanic Garden into the stationery and escort cards, which were mushroom birds I bought from the New York flower market with tags tied around their feet. My maid of honor works for West Elm so she was able to get tons and tons of mercury balls and silver nature inspired chotchkies to place on the tables. The gorgeous framed portrait paintings were a curious find at the Chelsea garage fleamarket. A real bargain!

I was also lucky enough to be able to have close friends and family create things for our wedding which was really meaningful to us. My mom is a renown wedding cake designer in Asia and so it was only natural for her to make my cake. The sugar flowers were made in The Philippines and Hong Kong and hand carried on the flight to New York. She had to make nearly double the amount of sugar flowers to account for all the breakage that was naturally going to happen from traveling regardless of how well packaged they were. In addition to that, my best friend is a jewelry designer and created gorgeous jewelry for me to wear on the day. Those special, personalized touches were the things that made our wedding even more meaningful.
