We are capping off the day with two totally adorable Bridal Showers. Aside from the obvious, they are also perfect inspiration for parties, weddings and day after brunches. Which makes us love each of them even more. The first, sent to us Erin Samuell of A Simple Photograph is simplicity at it’s finest. And it seriously makes me want to have my girlfriends over for a picnic. You’re going to love it. Click here to see more!

Becky and Katie met in Kindergarten. They’ve literally known each other a life time! They have thousands of stories and share so many memories. Basically Katie has the dirt on Becky and Becky has the dirt on Kate! Well this summer there are going to be two more people in on the secret. Both Becky and Katie are about to get married! And what better way to celebrate than with a Style Me Pretty inspired wedding shower!! Both girls (and photographer) are self proclaimed SMP addicts, so the theme for this little gathering was actually – Style Me Pretty!
We gathered a few of the girls from both bridal parties and rather than having two traditional showers we had a combined shower slash photo shoot. All the fun, plus the photos!! We gathered at the Little Inn of Bayfield, which is the just the most picturesque location to begin with. The beautiful windows in the historic main dinning room were going to be the focal point for our shoo. We decorated utilizing elements from the Inn itself, a few found objects, a few vintage finds and dozens of organic apples from a local orchard. We wanted to keep the pallet light and fresh and Springy.
Luann’s Country Flowers provided us with our floral arrangements, many of which were freshly potted daffodils. They could be easily recycled by replanting the bulbs in our home gardens. Luann also included some fresh artichokes in the bouquets for texture and a bit of the unexpected mixed in with the more traditional gerber daisy’s and hydrangea.
We kept the table settings simple. We used napkins made from some very pretty vintage fabric I found while rummaging through my mothers stash of great fabrics. This fabric was the inspiration for the rest of the design. We picked up the yellows and pinks from the fabric and topped each setting with a pale yellow fiesta bread plate and a red apple each topped with an antique broach – another great item discovered while rummaging through old drawers! Then we curled strips of paper printed with a matching pattern for the place cards. We carried that graphic through onto the menu cards, invites and again with the fortune teller candy dishes.
What shower would be complete with a silly game or two? Jane volunteered for the toilet paper wedding gown competition. Have you ever seen anyone look more beautiful in TOILET PAPER? Seriously!?! She rocked that frock like it was a Vera Wang original! We handcrafted her bouquet using strips cut from old wedding magazines and Kate crafted a beautiful hair piece by wrapping a pretty head band provided by ikb boutique in tissue.
After the wedding dress competition we headed outside to enjoy the sunshine and play a game or two of bridal bingo in the garden. We found a vintage bicycle belonging to the owner of the Inn parked in the garden – another great found item and a whole lot of fun. After our games we headed in for cocktails and delicious deserts prepared for us by the chef. We all had a fabulous time preparing this shower/inspiration shoot.
