Although we’re doing real wedding snippets today, and this isn’t exactly a real wedding, we loved it so much we had to squeeze it in. Anytime I see a DIY Bride who tackles the wedding invitations, I have to throw her props because doing your own invites is no small feat (nor is doing ALL of the paper goods like this bride). Rachael, the talented bride behind these invitations, was inspired by Mad Men and the styling of the sixties. She incorporated feathers, pearls, lace and even a little leopard. If you love them as much as we do, click here to see her complete wedding.

From the DIY Paper Goddess herself:
We decided to forgo letterpress in favor of a sewing machine, paper cutter, home printer, lace, ribbon, pearls, and hand seals.
Invitations: I designed, printed, and compiled our invitations–more than 200 in total! I cut and perforated a piece of metallic cardstock & sewed the textual part of the invitation on. I even hand-made the silhouettes of each of us and punched out each one individually and attached it to the sash.
Escort Cards: Our escort cards were a huge hit! We sewed each guest’s name to cardstock and attached a feather that swooped across the card. The table number was a letter charm attached to the card with ribbon.
Programs: Our program was the take-away gift: it included a CD with all of the music composed for the night and a vintage handkerchief (purchased in lots on Ebay & screen printed with the wedding logo I designed). The CD was included on the back of the petal-fold invitation in a clear adhesive package and the handkerchief was tied to the program with a ribbon, hand-sealed with a “S” seal we purchased. This was a very time-consuming but not so difficult DIY. I hand-designed the inside of the program, too, which included a piece of vellum with our wedding logo over the printed program.
