Dare I say it? Has Spring officially sprung? Well, it has at least for the time being in Boston and what better way to celebrate than with this INSANELY gorgeous Spring inspired tablescape that Janie Medley of JM Flora (although I’m sure that many of you know her by her cute blog, The Brides Cafe) and the fabulous Courtney Spencer of Meriment Events put together. With photography by Leo Patrone, it’s pure girly goodness and has definitely put a spring in my step. No pun intended. OK, it was intended, it just wasn’t a very good pun.
This table was purely an exploration of color combined with sweet vintage touches – scalloped, linen luncheon napkins; sweet antique glass plates; lovely etched champagne glasses filled with mimosas; darling silverware; charming mis-matched “found” chairs. We imagined the table being set for brunch and kept everything very simple and romantic.
The blue surface of the table really inspired the palette. Janie used peachy apricot garden roses, ivory garden roses, apricot parrot tulips, sherbert ranunculus, rosemary sprigs and geranium leaves…the flowers had a heavenly scent. Of course, garden roses have a lovely scent on their own, but combined with scented geranium leaves and rosemary sprigs….bliss. She concentrated on three main flowers – roses/ranun/tulips – which created a really lush look. The brilliant orange of the kumquats played nicely off the blue and complemented the color palette of the flowers.
The table really felt like a riot of spring, nestled beneath a blooming magnolia “galaxy” tree, which had dropped its petals, literally creating a blanket under the table.
Thank you so much to Janie, Courtney and Leo for starting off our week so beautifully. Along with The Brides Cafe, make sure to check out Meriment Events and Leo Patrone’s gorgeous blogs!
